  2.                         PENTHOUSE ONLINE 
  3.                    REMOTE SIGNUP INSTRUCTIONS
  4.  
  5. System Requirements:
  6.  
  7. o    PC compatible 286 or higher.
  8. o    DOS 3.1 or later.
  9. o    580K conventional memory must be available.
  10. o    Hard Disk with at least 2MB free disk space.
  11. o    VGA or higher resolution display monitor.
  12. o    A modem (14,400 baud and 9600 baud is recommended) 2400 baud
  13.      is supported.

  15. This sign-on procedure is used for first time callers to complete
  16. a subscriber application only.  A credit card is required.  We
  17. accept VISA and Mastercard only.  If you do not have a credit card
  18. to use, please call customer service at 1-800-547-4727 for
  19. alternate ways to enroll to the service.
  20.  
  21. Rates are as follows:
  22.  
  23. o    Sign-Up fee:   $9.95
  24. o    Basic Monthly Service Charge: $5.95/month
  25. o    Usage Charges:  $.20/min.
  26.                      $.30/min. when downloading.

  29. Set-Up Instructions for Enrollment:
  30.  
  31. You will be asked a series of questions to configure the set-up
  32. program for your particular modem and dialing requirements.   Those
  33. questions are as follows:
  34.  
  35. 1).  TO BEGIN THE ENROLLMENT PROGRAM.  Press the <F2> key from the
  36. previous menu to start the enrollment process.
  37.  
  38. 2).  COM PORT.  The program will search for your communications
  39. port that is assigned to your modem.  Confirm the Com Port by
  40. typing in the number when prompted.  Be sure not to assign the Com
  41. Port you have designated for your mouse.  NOTE:  Your mouse and
  42. modem can not be on odd or even number Com Ports. For example, if
  43. your modem is on Com Port 1, your mouse must be on Com Port 2 or
  44. Com Port 4.
  45.  
  46. 3).  MODEM INITIALIZATION.  The program will set your modem at the
  47. factory default setting of AT&F, then test to make sure that modem
  48. string will work for your modem.  If you use a specific modem
  49. initialization string for your modem, enter that string when asked.
  50. If you need assistance building a modem string please call Customer
  51. Service at 1-800-547-4727.
  52.  
  53. 4).  PHONE NUMBER.  You will be dialing an 800# to enroll.  The
  54. program will ask you if you need to enter a "1" before the 800#. 
  55. Simply respond "Yes" or "No.
  56.  
  57. Some phone systems require you to dial a "9" (or calling code) to
  58. get an outside line.  Penthouse Online will automatically place two
  59. commas after your code to allow for a longer delay. 
  60.  
  61. 5).  TO CONNECT.  When the Penthouse Online Access screen appears,
  62. press "C" to connect.  NOTE: DO NOT ENTER THE SET-UP AREA, you have
  63. already given the set-up appropriate instructions from your
  64. previous entries.  The network will give you a DIALING message, a
  65. CONNECTED message, a CHECKING USER ID/PASSWORD message and then a
  66. YOU ARE LOGGED ON message.  After a few second the first sign-up
  67. screen will appear.
  68.  
  69. 6).  ON-LINE SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION.  At this screen, simply
  70. complete each field.   
  71.  
  72. 7).  ENTRY OF PAYMENT INFORMATION.  You are given the option to use
  73. your VISA or Mastercard for payment on your sign-up fee, basic
  74. monthly service charges and usage fees.  The credit card number and
  75. expiration date must be typed in correctly so we can validate your
  76. credit card.
  77.  
  78. The specified account will be electronically debited each month. 
  79. The debit generally occurs on the 10th of each month.  You are
  80. responsible for any charges that are incurred, but are free to call
  81. customer service with any questions.  Your invoice is available on-
  82. line under ACCOUNT INFORMATION.  There you may find a CURRENT TIME
  83. METER and your PREVIOUS INVOICE.  We do not send invoices via
  84. traditional mail.
  85.  
  86. 8).  USER I.D.  This number is randomly assigned to you.  Your user
  87. I.D. is permanent and can not be changed.  Write this number down
  88. for future reference.
  89.  
  90. 9).  PASSWORD.  Passwords are used to provide security for each
  91. user.  We assign the first password, but after you log-on for the
  92. first time you may change your password as often as you wish.  From
  93. the General Directory you must follow the path: Hot Stuff/Account
  94. Information/Personal Data. The password can be no more than 8
  95. characters in length.  Do not use any characters other than
  96. alphanumeric, with no spaces. You must wait 24-hours to access the
  97. service using your new password.  BE SURE TO REMEMBER YOUR PASSWORD.

  99. 10). TO QUIT ENROLLMENT PROGRAM.  After you assigned a User I.D.
  100. and Password you will be asked to exit the enrollment program by
  101. typing "Q" (for Quit) at the Penthouse Online Access screen.
  102. YOU MUST QUIT THE PHSIGNUP PROGRAM FOR THE SYSTEM TO UPDATE
  103. YOUR ACCESS SOFTWARE WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO LOG ON
  104. TO THE PENTHOUSE ONLINE SERVICE.
  105.  
  106. Set-Up to Access Penthouse Online:
  107.  
  108. 1).  Type PHO at the C:>PHO prompt.  
  109.  
  110. You will be asked the same series of questions similar to the
  111. enrollment program for: COM PORT designation, MODEM INITIALIZATION,
  112. and PHONE NUMBER special requirements, that were asked in the
  113. enrollment program.  
  114.  
  115. Your Terminal Set-Up screen will be configured based on the modem
  116. parameters and personal information assigned during the enrollment
  117. process. The Terminal Set-Up screen will be personalized with the
  118. name that you entered in the Subscriber Information section during
  119. enrollment (e.g.; Susie Smith)
  120.  
  121. 2).  PASSWORD ENTRY.  You will be prompted to enter your password
  122. into the set-up screen.  This is optional.  Some users choose not to
  123. enter their password, to prevent others from having access to their
  124. account.  If you do not have your password in the set-up screen, you
  125. will be prompted to enter your password each time you log-on to the
  126. service.

  128. 3).  BAUD RATE.  The program will search for the fastest available
  129. speed for your modem.  Confirm the search by typing the appropriate
  130. speed for your modem. For example, type 4 for 9600 bps.

  132.  
  133. 4).  PHONE BOOK.  Penthouse Online gives you access to the service
  134. via  a local number.  Use this section to select your access number
  135. based on area code and baud rate of your modem.  When prompted,
  136. type in the area code of your calling area.  Highlight the access
  137. number you wish to use.  This number will be placed in your set-up.
  138.  
  139. 4).  THE PENTHOUSE ONLINE ACCESS SCREEN.  At the Penthouse Online
  140. Access Screen press "C" to connect.  If all of your parameters for
  141. your modem are set correctly you will be logged-on to the service
  142. after it checks your User I.D. and Password.
  143.  
  144. YOU MUST WAIT 24 HOURS AFTER ENROLLING BEFORE YOU ARE ALLOWED
  145. ACCESS TO THE PROGRAM.
  146.  
  147. If you have any questions, or encounter difficulty using the
  148. enrollment program or logging-on to the service, please phone
  149. customer service at 1-800-547-4727.  Please have your user I.D.
  150. handy.

  153. Online Customer Service Representative by sending an email message
  154. to email address: CUSTSERV.  These messages are responded to within
  155. 24-hours.
